I came across this massive antler within the first 20 min which made the next 2 hours of looking a heart pumping good time.</p>

Not only was I lucky enough to harvest my first deer ever with a recurve bow, I had a chance to take this great mature whitetail to tag out with archery for the season. The woods still seam to be calling my name I have taken a few weeks off to catch up with my family and house neglected yard work.</p>

Shooting a deer with a recurve bow was like shooting m first deer all over again. There is just a special feeling of watching your arrow fly with no obstruction of a sight and when you see it hits it's mark you know you have just accomplished a huge feat! I was able to hold my nerves for the 10 minutes of waiting for the right moment and when my arrow hit the deer I just fell apart. Early November is what bowhunting dreams are made of.</p>

<p>I shot this 8 point on November 5th after an an all day hunt and after having just missed a bigger 9 point only an hour before.&nbsp;</p>

<p><span style="font-size: 90%;">The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has added a one week extension to the muskrat trapping season in all counties except Allegany, Carroll, Frederick, Garrett, Howard and Washington. The new closing date for the season is be March 21, 2009. No other hunting or trapping seasons have been extended.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 90%;">&ldquo;Muskrat trapping is culturally and economically important in many regions of Maryland,&rdquo; said Robert Colona, DNR Furbearer Project Leader. &ldquo;Persistent ice cover and the recent snowfall limited trapper access to many wetlands this winter. Those that wish to trap furbearers and did not possess a Furbearer Permit or certificate of trapper education prior to August 1, 2007 must also complete mandatory trapper education requirements.</span></p>
